There are ways to keep your credit score in a healthy place, and there are also ways that can quickly bring your score down. When it comes to keeping your score in a tip-top shape, these are a few of the ways that will hurt your score most and that you should be most mindful of.

  1. Paying bills late.
  2. Having a high balance on accounts (typically on credit cards, you don’t want to have a balance that’s more than half your available credit).
  3. Closing accounts (this may make your credit history seem younger than it actually is).
